Marsel got his start in 2002 when he decided to pursue a career involving his love for music. His good friend, Baweley, introduced him to Sogga, Baweley's half brother. Sogga had not yet blown up in the music industry, but Marsel saw this as an opportunity to get a start. In 2010, Sogga started recording for the album Flop Fo No Hoe, and let Marsel meet the big man himself, Big Floppa. He got to know Floppa and had various interviews with him during the production, and after the release of Flop Fo No Hoe. Because of his newfound friendship with Floppa, Marsel joined the Floppa Clan; Sogga disapproved of this decision because of his copyright controversy with Floppa.
