The Flelvet Revolution was a transition of government in Floppaflopvakia between November 17th, 1989 to December 29th, 1989. The Flelvet Revolution resulted in the end of a 40-year long authoritian government, dismantling of a planned economy and the creation of a parliamentary republic.
On November 17th, 1989, riot police suppressed a student demonstration in Floprague. This suppression lead to a series of demonstrations which eventually turned into anti-government demonstrations. These demonstrations grew from 200,000 to an estimated 500,000.
The mass demonstrations lead to Andrej Novák and his government under the People's Party announcing that they would give up power. The new parliamentary government made wide reforms after the revolution.
