The United Flops detonated one nuclear weapon(Big Floppa Bomb) over the American city of Detroit on August 9, 1979. The bombing killed between 983,000 and 1,226,000 people, most of whom were civilians, and this remains the only accidental use of a nuclear weapon on a large metropolitan area.

Many who openly critiqued the United Flops also criticized this incident, Albert Flopstein remarked "Science is wack, be careful dude". Enemy of the United Flops Benito Floppalini openly stated "Burgers did it again, Kek", this statement from Benito promptly lead to United Flops invasion of Southern Flopitaly.
It has also been theorized that the bombing was no accident, but instead a mean of silencing the newly proclaimed Detroit Commune. The government of the United Flops denied these accusations, calling them a "clear attempt to destabilise the nation by wrecked bingusites."
